Hello! You can call me Checkers.
I am a natural born circus freak! I was born with the genetic disorder Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), which affects my body’s connective tissue. EDS makes my joints and ligaments hyper-flexible, allowing an extreme range of motion in my whole body, even including hyper-elasticity of the skin. With years of training, I was able to embrace my condition in a positive way by learning the mesmerizing art of contortion! I use my performance to entertain and inspire audiences everywhere!
With a background in improv comedy and a lifelong love for the circus, it was only natural that I became a clown. I find that my combination of contortion and comedy makes for a unique and exciting form of entertainment, which I proudly call “clowntortion”. While contortion has always been my primary act, I’ve spent nearly a decade expanding my repertoire to include just about every single classic stunt of the traditional circus sideshow, and then some! I pride myself on my ability to present these classics with my own comedic twist!
When I turned 21, I left my hometown of Philadelphia, PA to pursue a full time career as an entertainer. My pursuit sent me on the adventure of a lifetime; running away with the circus, pitching tents, living on the road, meeting amazing people, touring different places, and (of course) perfecting my show! My travels landed me in Southern California, which has been my home base since 2015.
After falling in love with San Diego, CA, I mostly left behind the transient lifestyle, and became a fixture in the local performance community. I have worked with countless entertainment companies in LA, OC, and SD, and made a splash in the corporate entertainment world. After a handful of West Coast tours, I am looking forward to doing more shows in the Bay Area and Pacific Northwest! I’ve also made my fair share of television appearances, most notably, The Late Late Show with James Corden, MTV’s True Life, Disney Channel’s Walk The Prank, CBS’s Celebrity Big Brother, ABC’s Shark Tank, and countless music videos for artist’s including Fall Out Boy and JoJo Siwa.
